Dear fans,

First of all I want to wish you all a very happy new year! I would like to thank you all for supporting me throughout the year 2012. Where would I have been without your support? Nowhere. It has been an amazing year for me as an artist. I have performed with a lot of big international names in the music scene, such as Firebeatz, Marcel Woods, La Fuente, Lex Empress, Berenice (Kraak en Smaak) and many more! I will share a few highlights with you. This year, I competed in a few DJ contests. First of all there was De Beste DJ van Nederland contest, in which I ended up at the top 10 nationwide. Second, after winning the Springbreak DJ contest I performed at one of the most amazing parties I have ever seen. Then there was the summer. I loved playing at the freshmen’s parties in Tilburg. These students really know how to party. The closing party started at 10 pm and lasted until long after the sun was up. I would like to thank my residencies: Club Lux, Havana Tilburg and Grand Cafe Maria for letting me play in their venues on a very regular basis. All of them will still be part of my gigs in 2013.Another big step for me as a DJ was changing my DJ name. Avon will no longer be used. From now on I will be performing under a new name: ÆVON. You pronounce it the same way, the spelling is just different.

To start this year fresh I made another edition of Avontuur that I would like to share with you! This one has got a lot of deep and tech house sounds in it. Share it, download it, put it on your iPod. Enjoy!

The days are getting shorter and the temperature is almost dropping below zero. Those are the months to get inside the clubs and enjoy the best dance music available. The next few months are looking exiting! Apart from the usual gigs at the Havana, Grand Cafe Maria and Club Lux I will be playing at Club Poema on the 29th of November for the first time in my life! Furthermore I am making some plans for the summer of 2013. More info will come soon!

This summer has been an amazing time! Apart from a few good weeks abroad I have attended some sick parties. The absolute highlight: the closing party of the freshman’s introduction week, the TOPweek in Tilburg. At TSR Vidar I played in front of a crowd of 3000 students. They crowd went wild! The party started at 22:00 in the evening and lasted until 10 ‘o clock the next morning. I played a prime time set in the midst of the night. A small impression of that night:

A few days ago I had the honor of playing at Springbreak 2012, together with Marcel Woods, Setrise, Joeysuki, Dr. Papasov and Jesse Jazz we have rocked the swimming pool! This was an experience I will never forget!
I have some great news about some gigs this summer. To begin with I have been booked at the S.A.A.D. Full Moon Party, a small festival in Tilburg. I will be playing a back to back set with Ramon Anthony. Furthermore I will be playing at the biggest party of the TOP Week, the introduction week for new students in Tilburg. More great gigs are about to be announced, so stay tuned!

Last week wednesday I competed in the finals of the Springbreak DJ competition. And guess what… I won! The night was long, the party was awesome and the competition was very exiting! Both the jury and the party people in Studio Tilburg decided that I was the winner of the evening. This means that on June the 21 I will be playing at Springbreak 2012! I will be playing the first two hours, followed by Marcel Woods and Dr. Papasov. For more info go to www.springbreakparty.nl

The past few months have been pretty hectic for me as a DJ. I’ll give you the highlights. As I mentioned before, I have competed in the dutch DJ contest ‘De Beste DJ van Nederland’. In the regional finals I had to compete against the best DJ’s from Utrecht and Noord Holland. Out of the 10 contestants, I earned the first price! The jury was very enthusiastic about my performance and they told me that they became my fans instantly. I was flattered by their positive words about my set. Because of this accomplishment I made it to the semi finals. There I had to play against the best DJ’s from Limburg, Brabant, Zeeland and Zuid Holland. The level of the other DJ’s was very high, so high that I eventually earned the 4th place (the first 3 DJ’s made it through to the finals). It has been an amazing time competing in this contest! Furthermore, I have earned my place in the finals of the Springbreak DJ contest. On May the 9th I will be playing against 3 other DJ’s for a spot in the line up of Springbreak 2012, where I could play together with Marcel Woods in front of 1100 students! This is going to be exiting!

I’ll give you a small update of the things that happened the last few months! First of all, on January the 7th the first edition of 50/50 started in Club Jules in Arnhem. It was a good start for a new party in town and the music was awesome. Let me quote the owner of the Jules; ”you guys have the best music in town tonight!” There is still a lot of planning to be done but the next edition will probably be held in March

Furthermore I am proud to announce that I am the new resident DJ of Havana in Tilburg! I will be playing there once a month from now on, on the friday nights. They appreciate tribal, tech house and vocal house so this will be a great opportunity for me to bring my sound to the people of Tilburg!

Last friday, just before I started playing at the Havana I got a phone call from the Clubstitute Dance Radio station. They were happy to inform me that I made it to the next round in the DJ contest De Beste DJ van Nederland! The news was very unexpected for me. I already won a lot of workshops from Pioneer and I am going to compete for the title; Best DJ of the Netherland 2012!

Well well, a lot has happened during the last few weeks. There are a lot of things going on right now. I am very excited to inform you all that I will be getting my own party! It will be held in Arnhem, in Club Jules. The Jules is going to re-open on the saturday evening, a great opportunity to try out a new flow of music in Arnhem’s party scene. I will be organizing this party together with a very talented friend, Daniel Williamsen. It’s called: 50/50. The first edition will be held on January 7th! More info will come soon.

Furthermore, I am going to compete in the DJ contest ‘Beste DJ van Nederland’, a national competition for talented DJ’s in Holland. There is a lot at stake at this contest. To win in my province, Utrecht, my mix should be selected as one of the 5 best mixes in the field. There is also a Wildcard voting procedure, but I would rather be selected on talent. It’s been a while since my last post. There is a simple explanation, my Traktor s4 was broken down. It took Native Instruments 2 whole months to decide that I could use a brand new controller. All the frustration of not being able to play has resulted in some new creativity; my newest mixtape Avontuur II. In this mix you will hear the hottest sounds of this moment. In one hour you will experience the power of House, Tech House and Tribal sounds.
